What can you expect one month in to an Achilles injury?

Watch my video to see how I’m surviving.

Don’t expect too much and welcome any progress that moves you forward towards getting back to normal.

My own initial experience after 4 weeks of of achilles injury maybe different from yours but this may give you a bit of insight of what may be similar to you. After 30 days it’s still frustrating for me. I still can’t drive, I’m still using crutches and wearing a boot. There is still some swelling and there is still pain. So yes, I’m still surviving through the first month.

But not everything is negative. There are plenty of positives.

There are definitely improvements with my ankle mobility and strength. I’ve been consistently going to physiotherapy and also disciplined in doing the rehab mobility, strength exercises on my own. In a month I am able to put weight on the injured foot. I can bend my ankle further and my own personal test was to see if I could push the trash can pedal down. And if you watch the video, you’ll see if I made any progress.

In the video, I also share my experiences with the iWalk Free knee crutch and a generic knee scooter.  I will be doing a more in-depth review of the knee crutch so make sure to subscribe to get notified when that premieres.

I truly don’t know where my progress ranks expect in terms of what the expectations are. I guess not having any is a good thing since this way I’m also not disappointed. And any improvements right now is a step moving towards recovery.

If you’ve had an Achilles injury before or have any experience with it, I’d love to hear from you. Drop me a comment or send me an email.
